What FlipScout Does

FlipScout is a Chrome browser extension that analyzes publicly visible eBay listing data (sold prices, item titles, listing details) and displays calculated metrics (averages, medians, estimated profit after fees) in an overlay on eBay pages.

Data We Collect

We collect no personal data. Specifically:

• No account or login required
• No email addresses collected
• No browsing history tracked
• No cookies set by FlipScout
• No analytics or tracking scripts
• No data transmitted to external servers

Data That Stays on Your Device

FlipScout stores the following locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:

• Usage counter: Number of lookups used today (resets daily)
• Subscription status: Whether you have a Pro plan (boolean)
• Settings: Your preferred currency and any configuration

This data never leaves your browser. It is not transmitted to any server.

eBay Page Data

FlipScout reads publicly visible information on eBay pages you visit (item titles, prices, sold dates). This data is:

• Processed entirely in your browser
• Used only to calculate the metrics displayed in the FlipScout overlay
• Never stored, logged, or transmitted
• Discarded when you navigate away from the page

Payments

If you upgrade to FlipScout Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. FlipScout never sees or stores your credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy.

Third-Party Services

FlipScout does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party service is Stripe for payment processing (Pro plan only).

Permissions

FlipScout requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage: To save your usage count and settings locally
• Host permission (ebay.com and 7 international eBay sites): To read publicly visible sold listing data and display the FlipScout overlay on eBay pages

Children's Privacy

FlipScout is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of FlipScout after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
